Room Detail Nestled on a pink sand crescent beach, protected by a natural coral reef, sits an oasis of luxury - The Crane Resort & Residences - a AAA Four-Diamond award winning resort. Boasting half a mile of ocean frontage, and panoramic views of the blue Atlantic that fade into eternity, this historic Barbados resort possesses an enchanting flavor.
In the 19th century The Crane was built as Barbados' first resort hotel and has been known ever since for its sophistication and old-world charm; its romantically secluded and incredibly beautiful location; its unhurried relaxed atmosphere and its friendly, well-trained staff. The Crane is conveniently located approximately six minutes drive east of the Grantley Adams International Airport, on the South Eastern coast of Barbados.

The Crane Resort and Residences will unveil it's Crane Village in mid-February. Facilitites include the Village Town Hall, a duty-free shopping center, a conference facility for up to 100 guests, a theater and gym/spa overlooking the beach and cliff-side pools. Architectural features of the Crane Village include cobblestone Streets, gable roofs, wooden shutters, ornate fretwork, lime stonewalls and verandas. The Crane is nearing completion of a multimillion-dollar renovation and expansion that includes two pergolas flanking the property's entrance, two new flood-lit tennis courts and a beach elevator as an alternative to the 99 steps descending to Crane Beach. The resort will add garden residence suites before the end of 2009, bringing it's total room inventory to 220.

* Private Residences
By marrying nineteenth century grandeur and furnishings with twenty-first century luxuries, conveniences and world-class amenities in its new development of private residence units Barbados' oldest vacation hotel has created a level of exclusive resort living to be enjoyed by its guests.
Private residences at The Crane boast the finest in furniture and finishes, including hand-crafted Barbadian mahogany furniture, objects d'art, mahogany four-poster king size beds, spa showers with multiple shower heads, private Jacuzzis, oriental carpets, cable TVs, and DVD players.
The setting, however, provides the true feel of the property: old-world coral stone walls, hardwood floors, 10' high timber tray ceilings, central A/C, floor-to-ceiling marble bathrooms, and amazing ocean views of The Crane's crystal clear, turquoise waters.
One, two- and three-bedroom residences also feature the conveniences of a full fridge with in-door icemaker, smooth top stove, dishwasher and private washer and dryer. Junior suites offer a mini-kitchen and a garden view.
Residences range from spacious junior suites at 450 to 570 sq. ft.; one-bedroom, two bathroom units at 1,120 sq. ft. to 1,848 sq. ft.; two-bedroom, three bathroom units at 1,784 to 2,672 sq. ft; and spectacular 2,945 to 3,400 sq. ft. three-bedroom, four bathroom penthouses.

Suites at The Crane, in the original historic hotel, are larger than hotel rooms but smaller than the one-bedroom apartments. All but one of the five suites in the 1887 Resort feature a lovely ocean view. That one suite, however, features a full pool view and access to the main pool through the patio. All suites offer a semi-private sitting room with a fold out sofa bed, bedroom, bathroom and patio.
Some of the suites were part of the original manor house, Marine Villa, and feature coral stone walls and high ceilings that are over 200 years old.
* One Bedroom Suites
The Crane's one-bedroom suites all have a spacious living area, private bathroom, kitchenette, private sitting room, a spacious bedroom and large patio with breathtaking ocean views.
Most one-bedroom suites are not air-conditioned as the tropical sea breeze, coral stone walls and 12-foot high ceilings help to cool them all year round. One-bedroom suites comfortably sleep four adults using the pull out sofa bed in the private sitting room.
Deluxe one-bedroom apartments boast a corner location with expansive verandas and panoramic sea views. Standard one-bedroom apartments feature a beautiful sea view from one side of the apartment and a garden view on the other.
* Two Bedroom Suites
Two-bedroom suites at The Crane are made up of a one-bedroom suite and hotel room joined by a connecting door.
Two-bedroom apartments have a private sitting room with a fold out sofa bed, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchenette and a large balcony with an ocean view. These apartments sleep six adults with the pull out sofa bed.
Deluxe two-bedroom apartments boast a corner location with expansive verandas and panoramic sea views. Standard two-bedroom apartments feature a beautiful sea view from one side of the apartment and a garden view from the opposite side.
Some of the rooms and one-bedroom suites were part of the original manor house, Marine Villa, or feature coral stone walls and high ceilings that are over 200 years old.
